Thoughts I’d create this post to celebrate my mum (Australian spelling) and to celebrate all the moms (American spelling) out there. You know it’s true what they say, that parenthood will change your perspective on your parents. Now that I’m the proud dad to Jemma, I really do appropriate my folks more and more every day.
Whats makes our situation more challenging is my mum lives on the other side of the planet! I really don’t like being so far away but no more so than on Mothers Day. But not only does she miss out of me taking care of her, she misses out on spending time with Jemma, which might be the hardest part of all. Despite this, every Monday without fail mum jumps on Skype and been able to build a wonderful relationship with Jem, so much so that when Jemma hear’s that Skype sign-in sound she stops, looks at me with mouth and eyes wide open and says “Oh Nanna!”.
Mums are incredible, their love is unbeatable and this quote sums up how I feel about mine. To all the mums out there, Happy Mothers Day!
